Last weekend was a very busy weekend for Adi. And even before that, preparations for the big weekend were in full swing. Sunday 13 February 2011 was the date set for the dedication of a new church district of CECA 20, the district of Adi. The church president, who was on a trip to CAR and the Zande Region (Uele district) in DR Congo, would come by plane on Friday 11th. Negative. He was asked to come to Entebbe on Friday and the flight to Adi was cancelled. Reverend Kokole Idring’i came by bus to Arua on Saturday, was picked up by his wife (who had arrived Friday by car from Bunia) and the Adi hospital administrator. Before coming to Adi around 9pm he visited his parents.
Sunday was the big day. People from all over came to Adi, many guests had already come on Saturday to stay overnight. The church service started at 9am and was finished around 3.30pm, followed by a meal. After that many left for their homes, although Kokole and the others from Bunia left on Tuesday morning. They even loaded two goats in the car.
The AIDS Program is at a standstill at the moment as the money has not arrived yet for the new funding period. However, that said, Abraham and I are preparing to go to Bunia to give a capacity building workshop to CECA leaders of all nine church districts.
